Overview: This is a so-called heritage wine that speaks to the Dão region’s historic potential to produce some of the finest grapes and Portugal’s most complex, elegant and age-worthy wines, refined by the award-winning winemaker's extraordinary wine-making savoire-faire.
Varietals: 100% Alfrocheiro
Tasting notes: Lighter, lifted and elegant with structure - this is the Dão region at its best! Finessed with the perfect amount of chalky tannins on the finish to give it just a hint of rusticity. This is a super versatile wine that could go with lighter dishes but stand up to meats. Notes of pomegranate, cranberry and a delightful herbaceousness. Aged 50% in stainless steel and 50% in new french oak.
Enjoy with: Meats or meaty fish dishes. Mediterranean dishes; would pair lovely with a tomato based moroccan stew.
