Quinta Nova Vintage Port 2017 (Douro)
93 Point Robert Parker
Overview: Vintage Ports only make up 2% of all Port production in Douro Valley. They are singular examples of exceptional harvests and this one comes from a so-called “harvest of the century”. It is concentrated, rich, seductive and can be enjoyed in its youth or aged to enjoy decades from now.
Varietals: Centenary vines compose of 30+ native grape varieties
Tasting notes: Of an intense, deep and almost impenetrable ruby color, this Vintage explodes with ripe, red and black fruit, licorice and graphite on the nose and richness and power in the mouth, held up by fine and concentrated tannins that sit on the mouth for a long time, asking for another sip and bite of cheese or chocolate.
Enjoy with: Creamy, potent cheese such as Stilton, Gorgonzola, or Portugal’s famous Serra da Estrella mountain sheep cheese, thick and succulent beef or portobello mushroom steaks, rich dark chocolate fondant or other dessert.
Alcohol: 19.2%
