Recreate a Portuguese BBQ in your backyard!

Missing all things Portugal and travel? Me too! So, I teamed up with my producer Quinta do Tedo from the Douro Valley to help you recreate the experience in your own backyard! Quinta do Tedo has helped us out by authoring two delicious end of summer recipes; their famous Piri Piri BBQ chicken and a tomato and melon salad.

While you may not have the Douro views, the ingredients are simple and I got you covered with the wines, Ports and olive oil. I would suggest opening a bottle of Portuguese rosé or opt for one of Quinta do Tedo's Port Tonic cocktails below.

As for the music - take your pick but I am a huge fan of Mariza's Fado. Pop a cork, and enjoy ... cheers!



Porto Tonic

2 oz Rosé or Tawny Port
3 oz Schweppes (or mix part Schweppes/part sparkling water for a less sweet version)
A squeeze and slice of citrus with your aromatic of choice (i.e. lemon with lavender, lime with ginger, play around with it!)
A few giant ice cubes
Serve up high, in a wine or balloon glass with a stem
